You Don’t Want to Know

For the most part I kept the fact that I was having surgery again fairly quiet. And for those that did know about it, they may not have known what the surgery was for. I had thought for awhile as to if I should tell people about the surgery. And then if I should tell them what it is for and how to tell them. It is not a common surgery, so most people would probably want an explanation and I didn’t want to explain it.

And being that fact that when I did some research on the surgery, It was hard to find much information about it, except for generic descriptions on most hospital websites. So, I have decided to post my experience so not only my friends and family might know about it, but also so maybe it will help someone else that finds themselves looking for information on this procedure. And mind you, I am not a medical person, just a patient.

As I told a few people who knew about the surgery, I said it was a “guy thing” so read on only if you are prepared to find out the answer. It might cause mental anguish for you guys, fair warned :)

My First Surgery

Just a bit of an overall update on the surgery I had this past Thursday. I was scheduled to go in at 1:30, but I don’ t think we got into Pre-op until 2:30 or 3. After poking me for the IV and several visits from nurses, doctors, etc. I was wheeled away about 4:45. The next 5 minutes was probably the strangest 5 minutes I have ever experienced. They set me up in the room, had me breathe into a mask for a minute or so and then the¬†anesthesiologist¬†said “we’ll see you in recovery” and I just felt a warming sensation and that was it.

My Top 10 iPhone Apps

A friend of mine is considering getting an iPhone and asked me last night what my top 10 productivity and time management apps would be for iPhone. It really did not take long for me to decide what apps would be on the list. I just ran through my app pages finding the apps that I use most (besides the basic email, Safari and Messaging apps). My list for the iPad would be very similar as most of the apps are for both the iPhone and iPad. I think one or two of them do have separate apps for each, but I think it was well worth the money spent on them.

So here we go:

State of the Summer

Taking an idea from my little sister’s blog, I decided to do a “State of the Summer” blog to give an overview of our summer plans. We are glad to have gotten the remodel out of the way and now we can get on some of the other smaller projects we have in mind. Laura will be teaching both Summer I and Summer II, but she only has a “face to face” class during Summer I. She’ll be staying really busy with that along with the little things around the house. I’ve started my walking back up again, I did not intend to take a break, but with all the things going on around the house, I just didn’t have the time to stick to my normal routine of walking everyday, I am glad to have started back up, mainly at the park right now, but I’ll be hitting the treadmill soon as well. It is rather hot outside.
